What Is Palm Shell Activated Carbon?

Palm Shell Active Carbon is a kind of premium active carbon made from the tough interior of palm nuts – a high renewable, abundant agricultural by-product of palm oil production. The dense, rigid outer shell of the palm nut is converted to extremely porous carbon material with well-developed micro-holes by careful control of carbonation and activation, usually by vapor or chemical activation at elevated temperatures.

Unlike active charcoal made from coal, timber or coconut shells, palm shell active charcoal is distinguished by the fact that it contains a natural amount of carbon, a small amount of ash, and an excellent mechanical toughness.
